The perfect holiday preparation

Good evening lovelies,
I've been trying to recover from an impromptu trip to the south of France for a week of volunteering with the IHCPT. Which was amazing as always and so fulfilling! Along with being fulfilling it's also really tiring due to the long days and the heat and it took me a couple of days just to get back into the swing of things. I am also taking these few days off to prepare for my summer holiday with Paul! We're off to Toronto and then Las Vegas and then to Los Angeles!

As all my fellow ladies know a lot of preparation goes into going away for a holiday or a break. Unfortunately it's not as simple as packing a bag and jetting off boys! So I'm giving my skin and hair some TLC before a lot of plane journeys.
Firstly I'm cleansing and toning and moisturising every morning and evening using the efficlar range from La Roche Posay as my skin has been temperamental from all the travelling prior to this. I find this range really helps to clear my skin and it's not too expensive too so that's a bonus!

Next I've been trying to use masks every 2 days I've been using a mixture of night masks and sheet masks from Sephora. I had a small supply left from my trip to Paris and thought I might as well use them up now since my skin deserved a treat. I love how affordable they are and the wide range of ingredients are available. My favourite would have to be algae night mask or the orchid mask.

Along with my facial care I've also been paying special attention to the skin on the rest of my body I suffer from really dry skin on my legs and always have to make an extra effort to moisturise especially now seeing as I've neglected myself over the past few weeks. At the moment I'm using E45 body lotion in the morning and then the body shop lime and mint body butter in the evening.
It's so rich and creamy and perfect to restore moisture in my legs especially before I start to tan my body.

For tan I mostly use Bellamianta moose. Which is a little bit on the pricey side at €25 however I find it totally amazing and it lasts excellently and fades brilliantly. I usually apply two coats and I use a tiny bit on my face usually what's leftover on the mitt. Also I highly recommend using the bellamianta mitt I'm not sure why but it's amazing compared to other mitt I've used! I know that everyone's experience of tan can be differeant as everyone's skin is not the same but I've heard nothing to praise for this tan and it's two thumbs up from me too!

Now onto my hair I make sure to always using products that add moisture and repair as my hair will be exposed to a lot of heat from the weather and styling tools like straighteners and curlers. I love the Toni and Guy range of shampoos and conditioners. They leave my hair feeling so healthy and they also come in handy travel sizes too! What's not to love!

And along with my usual argon oil I've also been using the Dr Paw Paw hair treatment. It's basically does everything! It's for heat damage and moisture and detangling! I picked it up in penneys for about €9 and it's such a god send!

Finally I've been making list of things of things I need to pack as I may over-look a few thing like having enough white bras! I know it sounds silly but I find I always forget about tan stains that may get in them and there's nothing worse than having a stained bra showing through your top! So I try and stock up on a few cheap ones from penneys.
I also put my outfits and shoes together. I tend to always overpack especially when I'm packing at the last minute so having a few days to prepare outfits and think is a big help. And also to get ready accessories like hats sunglasses and jewellery.

Finally I start to decant my products into small little tester pots that I get from boots and older testers. It's way easier than bringing the whole heavy jar or bottle. I usually decant small amounts of my serum, moisturiser and a mask and exfoliating wash. And if they're lost or anything it's not big deal compared to losing the whole jar of product and it also saves space it's a win win! And I'm also a sucker for hoarding travel size products. Top tip for any cosmetic manufacturer: if you make it in travel size I will most definitely buy it!

So that it lovelies. I don't usually get all this time to prepare but I'm so grateful that I have it now.

I'd love to hear about any preparation tips you
may have before setting off on your holidays 😊
Till next time
